This year’s event was a blast, bringing in many new faces! Overall, we had 139 players participating in the weekend's festivities, which included Mixed Singles, Ladies Singles, Mixed Teams, and Ladies Teams competitions.
Thank you to EVERYONE who supported our event. We couldn't have done it without your participation! We're already planning for an even bigger event next year, scheduled for January 30th – February 1st, 2026. Mark your calendars!
Mixed Teams
The Mixed Teams competition featured 12 teams, leading to some thrilling, hard-fought battles on the road to the finals. It all came down to four teams vying for the top positions. After intense matches, the Devastators won the hot seat from Red's Predators, while West Side Sweeps triumphed over the Sharks. West Side Sweeps then defeated Red's Predators for a chance to play the Devastators in the finals. In this true double-elimination tournament, West Side Sweeps won the first match. After a short break, both teams faced off again, with West Side Sweeps ultimately claiming victory over the reigning champions, the Devastators.
Ladies Teams
The Ladies Teams event had four teams competing in a round-robin format. Each team played every other team once, and the team with the most wins advanced to day two to await the other three teams battling for a spot in the final.
She Chalks Too Much went undefeated in their three matches. The other teams each won one match and were tied with wins. The order of play was determined by games won, with the total separated by only three games:
Crazy 8's defeated Billiard Dames in the first match, then faced Hooper's Cue Stix for a chance to play She Chalks Too Much in the finals. Hooper's Cue Stix won the semi-final match, setting up the finals. She Chalks Too Much then faced Hooper's Cue Stix and emerged victorious.
Mixed Singles
The Mixed Singles event had 39 participants this year, with the top eight places receiving monetary awards. The final three matches were played on day three. Randy Salzwedel, in the hot seat, awaited his chance to win the title. In the first match, Wes Smith faced Bryan Wilson, with Al Barlow playing the winner. Bryan Wilson emerged victorious and went on to defeat Al Barlow for a shot at Randy in the finals. In this true double-elimination format, Bryan needed to win two sets against Randy. However, Randy clinched the title by winning the first set.
Ladies Singles
The Ladies Singles event featured 16 players, with four places receiving prizes. Linda Asleson won the hot seat match against Debbie Nadeau, who then faced the winner between Valerie Porter and Marie Martinez. Valerie Porter emerged victorious against Marie and went on to play Debbie for a spot in the finals against Linda. Debbie won her match against Valerie, setting up the finals. In this true double-elimination format, Debbie needed to defeat Linda twice to claim the title. In two closely contested matches, Debbie secured the final game in both sets to win the trophy.
See you all next year! 🎱
