Anthony Beeler
Nickname: “Father of Online Billiards Instruction”
Anthony Beeler is an ACS Level 4 Master Instructor, member of the ACS National Instructors Board, and co-author of the ACS National Instructor’s Manual. A professional educator for more than 28 years, Beeler has built his billiards career around not only developing players, but also developing the instructors who teach them. He is additionally a PBIA Master Instructor, combining decades of formal educational experience with championship-level competitive credentials to create a uniquely comprehensive background in cue-sports instruction.
Throughout his instructional career, Beeler has worked with more than 31,000 students representing all 50 states and 102 countries through in-person training and his Virtual Billiard Academy. His students have ranged from beginning recreational players to regional and national champions and professional competitors. His student accomplishments include 28 APA regional champions, 6 BCAPL national champions, multiple junior national champions, major tournament winners, and professional players. His work with elite competitors has included WPBA professionals, while his broader instructional programs have helped thousands of amateur players develop more technically sound and strategically complete games.
Beeler has also earned recognition as a “teacher of teachers.” Instructor development has become an important part of his career, and he has helped other accomplished instructors advance professionally, including Samm Diep-Vidal, Kim Young, and Eric Naretto. His service on the ACS National Instructors Board and his work as a co-author of the ACS National Instructor’s Manual reflect his commitment to strengthening professional standards for billiards instruction and helping future generations of instructors become better teachers.
His teaching philosophy draws heavily upon his professional background in education. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all system, Beeler emphasizes individual assessment and the development of a complete player. His instruction incorporates fundamentals, stroke mechanics, aiming, cue-ball control, position play, pattern recognition, strategy, competition management, and the mental game. His objective is not simply to tell students what to do, but to help them understand why techniques work and provide them with the tools necessary to diagnose and improve their own games.
Beeler also brings considerable competitive experience to his teaching. His accomplishments include winning the 2013 BCAPL National 9-Ball Championship and the 1999 Kentucky State 9-Ball Championship, along with six regional championships and five national Top-25 finishes. With an established FargoRate of approximately 720 at his competitive peak, Beeler has demonstrated the ability to perform at a high level as both a player and instructor.
Whether working with a developing amateur, national champion, professional competitor, or fellow instructor, Beeler’s central philosophy remains the same: great instruction should teach players how to become their own best coaches. His work with the ACS, his contributions to instructor education, his competitive accomplishments, and his decades of professional teaching experience continue to shape his approach to developing both better players and better instructors.
